Eat... Just Eat it... All you got to is Eat it...

 July 5-10 Update...

She took Sherry back and was offered some fluids but declined. She wants to do this on her own and she is stubborn... she is secretly wishing that she took them up on the fluids offer but she fought back and drank lots to help with some dehydration.

Friday and Saturday are her slow and very low energy days but she once again persevered and Sunday was a little better.  She ventured out on Sunday evening to see the Lake House did some examining of the cleaners work and got exhausted quickly.  The heat drains her quickly. We had dinner brought by sherry we ate  and played Deal or No Deal. The kids made the game pieces and we all had a good time.

Monday was better and we got Mimi to come to our house and have dinner and hang out for a bit. Just some change of scenery.   It was also her first day of SIT AND BE FIT!!  Getting those muscles working and getting some energy back.  She did better at eating but no enough so we had a heart to heart or an evil eye to evil eye discussion about it.   I made her mad and then she decided she would eat more... Hollis made her a chart so she can keep track of her calories and what she drinks.

Tuesday she is doing better she came to my house had dinner and played games. She ate almost 900 calories... WOO HOO..

Wednesday she has more energy and was able to vacuum, fold laundry and clean some windows.  She had to say goodbye to a good friend.. Hannah Andrus today but she is eating and she looks and seems so much more lively.  Hopefully her gas pains will start to be less and less and she will be able to have more and more energy to do more things.

Dr. Appointment tomorrow.... we are hoping for a scan to be scheduled and some good numbers with her blood.

3rd round of Chemo

Numero Tres.... Half way

HALF WAY THERE!!

Round 3 began and ended the same.  No problems with the chemo and she took sherry home with her for 2 days and returned  her on Friday.  The fatigue has gotten a bit stronger but her body is working hard.   We saw some good things with her blood work...

Bilirubin- back to normal

Platelets- looking good

Tumor Marker- down 600!!!

WBC- this number would be nice to go up a bit (2.5) but we know that her body is working hard and getting blasted with some strong stuff.. so we take more precautions and try to keep the germs at bay.

4th of July- We had brats and hotdogs and some good ole sides to go with it.  The kids swam and Mimi came out once the sun went down.  She watched them swim in the glow in the dark pool and do fireworks.

She has had several visitors, cards/letters written, and lots and lots of prayers. We appreciate them all.

Finished the puzzle Tarri gave us

Next week we have a dr. appointment and hope that we can get a scan scheduled so that we can see whats happening to the platypus.

4th of July

Drain out and stent in....

June 24:  Dr. visit with Dr. Verra, who is the GI specialists.  He said she was looking good and wanted to take out the drain and put in the permanent stent. They scheduled the appointment for 2 days later on June 26th.

June 26:  Third time back at the North Campus outpatient center. We had some of the same nurses and they told us all about their trips they had taken since we saw them last.

Procedure lasted about an hour. Dr. Verra came into the room much more cheerful this time and that was because the news was good. Drain was removed and stent was put in.

My mom's first procedure to have the stent put in didn't go so well, but her nurse that came to get her was named Eric.

This time in the holding room where they started her anesthesia she had 2 males nurses and both of them were named Eric.  My mom has a hard time with the mask going over her face and one of the nurses held her hand and talked with her while they gently put the mask on.  She said she felt such a calm and peaceful feeling wash over her.

Her pain has been about the same as when they put the drain in.  Abs don't wont to be moved much.  She has struggles to get out of the recliner  but as each day goes by she can do it more and more with out pain.  Thankful for pain meds. that help to manage the really painful times.

The party no one wants to be invited to!
